Engagement process
How Laurel Core Advisory scopes, delivers, and closes HR structure and policy engagements for Western Australian SMEs.
From first message to signed deliverables
Our engagements are designed for owners and office managers who need clear paperwork and supervised rollout — not open-ended consulting hours.
Qualification call (20 minutes, complimentary)
We confirm team size, sites, industry award context, and whether your need fits structure review, policy work, a workshop, or a referral to legal counsel. You receive an honest yes/no on fit before any fee proposal.
Written quote and scope letter
Fixed fees for workshops and clarity sessions; milestone-based fees for reviews and policy packs. The letter lists interviews required, documents you will supply, deliverables, timeline, and payment terms.
Kickoff and document collection
We issue a checklist — contracts, rosters, prior org charts, leave exports. Kickoff can be video or at Office 10, 48 Sample Road, Perth WA 00000.
Interviews and on-site observation
Confidential conversations with owners, supervisors, and selected staff. We do not announce restructures during interviews; the purpose is understanding current practice.
Draft delivery and comment window
You receive drafts in PDF with a dated comment deadline. One structured revision round is included in standard scope unless the quote states otherwise.
Rollout support (optional)
Supervisor briefings, all-staff Q&A, or printed handbook packs can be added. We quote these separately so you control meeting costs.
Closure and records
Final invoice, delivery email with file archive, and optional 30-day email support for clarification questions on delivered documents.
Timelines we commonly see
| Engagement type | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Leadership role clarity session | 2 weeks incl. scheduling |
| Workforce planning workshop | 3–4 weeks to secure date |
| HR policy advisory | 2–4 weeks |
| Organisational structure review | 3–5 weeks |
Your commitments
Timely document supply, named interviewees available within two weeks, and a single internal approver for draft comments. Delays on your side extend timelines but do not automatically increase fees unless scope changes.
